A Live performance was on the school lunch menu at a Halifax high school with a performance from a famous British pop group.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1, it was the Manfreds! who gave Ravenscliffe High School, Skircoat Green, students an ‘explosive’ show-stopping school hall performance with five of their hits including Do Wah Diddy Diddy ahead of their Victoria Theatre, Halifax, concert on Bonfire night.

The Manfreds reunited in 1991 after success in the 1960s charts as Manfred Mann.

Band member Mike D’Abo, said: “We are delighted to be able to help in any way we can. The school do absolutely fantastic work and it’s great to be able to support them. We always enjoy coming here and always receive a warm welcome from the pupils and staff alike.”

Head teacher Martin Moorman, said: “We had a blast with The Manfreds. Their action packed day included a a roast dinner at school some social time with students, a talk about the Ravenscliffe@SpringHall project and an assembly concert with student performers. We were delighted to have the band back in school. The Manfreds and Ravenscliffe’s community have a shared passion: enjoying music and forging stronger relationships through music. We were thrilled they returned and can’t wait to get them back in the future.”
