A school in Halifax is to remain shut until further notice after a ‘small number’ of staff tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) last week.

Education chiefs at Broadwood School, on Moor End Road, made the decision to shut last week after confirming a number of the ‘school’s community tested positive for Covid-19’.

The school, run by Keys Group, informed parents of the closure on June 24, a week after more schools opened as Government eased lockdown rules.

“We continue to work closely with the local authority and Public Health England and follow all relevant guidance from them.

“The school remains temporarily closed and we are in regular contact with families about its reopening.

“Children are being supported through remote learning in the interim.”
