"A small number of children who have been in direct, prolonged contact with the confirmed case have been contacted directly and will be staying at home and must self-isolate for 14 days.

"We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

"The school remains open and - unless you have been directly informed that your child is in the affected group - your child should continue to attend if they remain well."

It is the latest coronavirus case to be confirmed at schools in the borough following positive test results at Rastrick High School and Trinity High School.
