School invests in Sacred nature

Pupils at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School, Sowerby Bridge, are investing in the sacred environment in a new school project to develop a forest site on school land. Plans for the outdoor learning space have been developed with help from Sean Creagh, of Eight Space, Hebden Bridge, pictured.

The first phase of the project has involved pupils, parents and staff involved in tree felling, bridge building and more. The site will be centred on a ‘climbing, moving and creating’ theme. Pupils of all ages will use the site in September as part of their core curriculum. The school plans to plant hundreds of trees in the autumn.
