School life: School securing an outstanding education for all

North Halifax Grammar School is currently working on a bid to open a new 11-16 non-selective secondary school in north Halifax.

There are currently two outstanding schools in the area, North Halifax Grammar School and Trinity Academy but not all local children are able to go to them and as time goes by more children are having to go further afield for their secondary education.

NHGS, working with Whitehill Academy, plans to open a new four form of entry Free School in September 2019.

The school will take 120 students into Year seven each year and will reach full size with 600 students in September 2023.

The school would not have any entrance test but would have close ties to NHGS which would have benefits for both schools.
