School life: Sowerby Bridge High pupils inspired to aim for more

Amjad shared how education unlocked his future – and how he transformed himself from a young boy who had migrated from Pakistan speaking only a few words of English, to being a successful businessman and an instrumental contributor at the European Parliament.

Mr Nick Robinson, Senior Vice Principal says: “Amjad’s session was very inspiring. As a school, we are constantly communicating to our students how they should take every opportunity available to them, and that challenges should be seen as barriers to be overcome.

“Education unlocks so many doors, and when combined with hard work and determination, pays off.

“Allowing our students to hear from speakers who are a real life reflection of this is an important part of helping them to stay motivated on achieving their own personal goals.”
