Smart grand opening for nursery - at a high school

A Rastrick nursery opened their doors for the first time to showcase their nursery provision to prospective parents and the community.

Smarties Nursery based at Rastrick High School on Field Top Road saw families experienced a range of fun activities whilst parents had the opportunity to chat to staff and view the facilities.

Nursery manager Clare Gibson said: “I believe that every child deserves the best start in life and here at Smarties we build the foundations for children to learn and grow.

“The nursery has been designed and will be equipped to a very high specification with children at the heart of all the planning. The nursery will have a separate baby room registered for nine babies. This room will reflect a home from feeling where each child’s individual needs are met.”

The nursery is split into 3 rooms: The under 2s room has a large spacious room catering for nine children where they have their own access to the outdoor area and opportunities to experience malleable and messy play.

The toddlers and pre-school rooms boast large open plan areas with free flow access to the outdoor learning environment and continuous provision indoors that will stimulate and challenge even the most curious of minds.

Open for 51 weeks of the year with prices starting from £20.00 for a half day session to £35.00 for a full day, it will also offer term time only contracts.

As a registered charitable organisation, any profits will be invested back into both the nursery and the school.

Smarties still have a few places available in all age groups, so any parents or guardians who would like to view the setting, can ring Clare or Sophie on 01484 728050 and they will be happy to show you around and discuss individual needs.
