Students have the kit for speaking

Sixth form students have been making a big impact on staff at Kirkdale Industrial Training Services Ltd as part of their diversity seminar.

Rubie Butler, Adam Crowther and Luanne Thornton from Brooksbank School in Elland brought the views of young people about gender stereotyping to the discussion with employees at the training facility on Armytage Road, Brighouse.

“They were absolutely amazing,” said Amanda Robertshaw, Employment Engagement Officer at Kirkdale Industrial Training Services.

“They were very well received by employers and they created a big impact because of the way they delivered it.”

The 2015 ‘Youth Speaks’ is being orchestrated by the Rotary Club of Elland who is sponsoring the students to perform in the competition.

It is a four stage competition designed to support and encourage development of effective communication skills.
