Youths break into Calderdale school grounds and damage learning spaces

At 6.30pm on April 24 youths broke into the grounds of Cross Lane Primary School in Elland.

Posting on the school's Facebook page a spokesperson said: "Our school grounds were broken into and significant damage was caused to our children’s outside learning spaces.

"The police are currently dealing with the incident and we ask that our school community keeps each other safe. We are all now on heightened alert.

"The youths were also seen cavorting on the school roof - a roof which is in desperate need of repair and is not stable enough to cope with multiple people being on it at any time.

"If you suspect or know anyone who could possibly be involved, please inform them that this is highly dangerous and should not be attempted again for their own safety."
