Here is what readers had to say on the update:

Cee Jay: So not surprised or sympathetic. I visit Halifax regularly and have seen practically no signs of masks, social distancing and have observed a ‘you can’t tell me what to do’ attitude. You reap what you sow, Calderdale.

Bob Farr: Well good luck with enforcing that

Shazza B Bing: So as a key worker who is meant to care for my children when they can't go to grandparents and friends houses ???

Naz Mahmood: This is a load of rubbish, on one hand the gov are encouraging to Eat out and Help out scheme from Monday, but you cant visit your loved ones.

Brian Crossley: So the solution is to meet your family in a pub or restaurant where you can also meet as many people (strangers) as you like. Confusing.

Roy Sellars: Be nice if the government could reference BUBBLES in their statements

Julie Clough-Robinson: How do they know its from family been at each others houses that is causing figures to rise again ?

Judith Herron: So no more support bubbles back to months of loneliness then is it? already been lonely with living on my own

Laura Rice: It’s not visiting family that’s caused this it’s opening the pubs & restaurants ffs shut them down it all happened to early it was more than obvious this was going to happen!!

Kashif Rashid: When all other measure are given a few days notice. This shambles of a government give 3 hours notice on Eid Eve.

Cant wait to see what stunts they pull on xmas..... ‘you can go shopping but cant go to the shops’ is the type of message i wouldnt be suprised by
