The Covid Vaccination Teams at Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust have now delivered more than 40,000 vaccines.

Since it started on December 30, the teams have been supplying the first and now second doses to their colleagues, health-workers, key workers and most at-risk residents across Kirklees and Calderdale

There have been clinics at Calderdale Royal Hospital and Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and many have been nurses coming out of retirement to ensure daily clinics running from dawn until dusk – even on New Year’s Eve and Day and all over the Easter Holidays.

Project lead Mel Addy, who came back from retirement to head it up, said: “ Everyone involved has been so proud to be part of this. Colleagues from all roles and backgrounds have come together in our teams and it’s been a big positive step forward and a real privilege for us all to be helping to protect our local communities.”
