Lizzie Jones thanks NHS staff with Facebook Live concert

The sporty soprano has dedicated the performance to NHS key workers, as a way of saying thanks for their support during the Covid-19 Outbreak.

Lizzie's 'Singing to make you smile' event will take place on Saturday night at 6pm. The concert will be streamed on Lizzie's Facebook page."In all the darkness and scary times at the moment I want to try if I can to take people away and make them smile through singing. The only thing I can do for our amazing NHS and all key workers is stay in, stay safe and do what I do best sing - from my kitchen," said Lizzie.

Lizzie was an awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) for her services to Rugby League and charity, after founding the Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund. The fund was set up in 2015 following the untimely death of her husband, Danny Jones.

Danny Jones died aged 29 from an undiagnosed heart condition during a rugby league match.The Fund has raised over £150,000, screening more than 2,000 people across the sporting community.

The Northowram mum-of-two also won the 'ITV's Inspirational Woman of the Year' 2016.
