NHS England data released on Friday, September 25 confirmed that the person has died after testing positive for Covid-19.

They died on Wednesday, September 23.

One person died in hospitals in Airedale and one person died in Hull.

10 people died in the North West, eight people died in London, eight people died in the Midlands, three people died in the North East, one person died in the South East and one person died in the east of England.

Patients were aged between 56 and 93 years old.

All except two (aged between 84 and 88) had known underlying health conditions.

The total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England is 29,871

NHS England publishes the number of patients who have died in hospital and tested positive for COVID-19 in England.

Since Tuesday, April 28 NHS England and NHS Improvement also reports the number of patient deaths where there has been no COVID-19 positive test result, but where COVID-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process.
