Calderdale Council is committed to promoting good mental health and wellbeing in the borough and is raising awareness of the support available to minimise the mental health impacts of COVID-19.

Calderdale Council’s Director of Public Health, Paul Butcher, said: “It’s vital that everyone follows national guidance and stays at home, but there are lots of ways to support your own health and wellbeing whilst social distancing.

“I recommend that everyone looks at the guidance available, whether you’re struggling with your mental health or not. Let’s take this time to reflect on our wellbeing, to help ourselves and others who may be struggling.

“I also find it helps to focus on the positives of individual situations with what’s known as having an ‘open mindset’. For example, rather than feeling ‘stuck at home’ focus on being safe at home or seeing it as an opportunity to spend more time with family. It really can help.”

Healthy Minds Calderdale

Healthy Minds is a Calderdale local mental health charity.

They're dedicated to providing support and offer a range of services to help you find what works for you to improve and maintain your emotional health and wellbeing.

Kooth

Kooth is a free, safe anonymous online counselling and support service for children and young people aged 10 to 25. Young people can access Kooth’s counselling service and self-help resources, such as '10 ways you can manage coronavirus panic.'
