Do something good - give blood

Do something good for others and give blood at Mytholmroyd Community and Leisure Centre.

On May 27, from 2.30pm - 4pm and from 5pm - 7.30pm, people are asked to donate life saving blood at the Calderne Avenue centre.

Donated blood is vital to perform life-saving procedures across the country. Bloos is also essential to the treatment of cancer and blood disorders.

Amanda Eccles, NHS Blood and Transplant’s senior marketing co-ordinator, said: “Every time someone donates a unit of blood their donation saves or improves the lives of up to three people.

“Regular blood donors in Mytholmroyd will have helped save thousands of lives and we cannot thank them enough.

“Unfortunately, a number of these donors may no longer be able to donate in the future due to health or other reasons so we need people to come forward and ensure patients always get the blood they need.”

People eligible to give blood must weigh over seven sotne 12-pounds and aged between 17 and 66 and up to 70 if given blood before. To register as a donor or to find out where there is a blood donation session near you visit www.blood.co.uk or call 0300 123 23 23
