“Our clinical teams have been here throughout, caring for those in our community who are facing the end of their lives.

“They continue to provide a home from home for them, and their families, and do their best to shield them from the chaos outside.

“The last couple of months have seen huge changes in the way we work in order to ensure our staff and patients’ safety and it has been incredibly challenging but

“I am so proud of our teams for their continued dedication to providing the very best care to those who need it most. I am in awe of the bravery they have shown, leaving their loved ones at home to care for someone else’s.

“As the pandemic unfolded and we looked to you, the people of Calderdale, to help us get through and ensure we could continue to care for our community. And my goodness, did Calderdale respond!

“ We have been overwhelmed by the support you have shown, from taking on crazy challenges, to holding your own raffles, opening pop-up shops on your drives, to the flood of donations. This support means so much to us and the patients and families in our care.

“In the midst of all of the desperately sad news over the past few months, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride. They say difficult times bring out the best in humanity and I have definitely seen the very best of Calderdale. Please continue looking after each other and stay safe.”

The Halifax Courier approached several groups and organisations ... we couldn’t possibly get to everybody, and some were unable at this time to participate, but don’t worry if you or your staff aren’t featured. We’re more than happy to devote more pages in the near future for more Big Thank You pictures. If you’d like to send in photos please email [email protected], including the names of those pictured and what they do, or have done, in the coronavirus effort.
