This week we’re taking a look around Norwood Green.
An early form of the village’s name was North Wood Green.
It is a small community with a population of under 1,000 residents.
Until the end of the 16th century, the main industries were agriculture and domestic textile production.
On August 29, 1940, three bombs fell in a field between Norwood Green and Ox Heys Farm, Shelf.
Nearby Judy Woods is 40 hectares and the oldest trees that are now remaining in the woods are around 180 to 200 years old.
