Get close to world's most dangerous bike

Organisers of the annual Classic Bike and Scooter show may have lost out on displaying abike made famous by legendary Hollywood actor Steve McQueen - but will now be showing an amazing speedway bike with a difference.

This year’s show (May 29 from 1am to 4pm on The Wharf in Sowerby Bridge)promises to be bigger and better than its predecessors.

And while it misses out on McQueen’s bike through events beyond its control, visitors can get up close with a fearsome looking two valve Jawa engine Russian ice speedway machine complete with 28mm tyre spikes which was ridden by a world championships runner-up.

Along with a huge range of machines on display, there will also be a Grand Classic Bike Show Raffle with the major prize of a week’s summer holiday in an Alpine Chalet for two people including £200 for flights (conditions and dates for holiday are on the tickets).

Other prizes include a private visit to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance Air Support Unit at Nostell and a presentation case bottle of ‘House of Commons’ Whiskey, signed by Prime Minister David Cameron.

These tickets are now on sale from Rotary Club members and local businesses and will be drawn at the event.

All money raised will go to Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Blood Bikes.
