n CREW (Cardiac Rehabilitation by Exercise and Walking) enjoyed a walk around West Vale last week.
Walkers followed a circular trail through North Dean Woods, via Greetland Moor to Copley for a coffee stop outside St. Stephen’s Church.
The group enjoyed looking at a war memorial in the churchyard which bears the name of Halifax’s only recipient of the Victoria Cross, Hanson Victor Turner.
The return was a steep, muddy scramble before Clay House and the car park were reached.
CREW is a local cardiac support charity offering exercise classes, educational sessions, a weekly 4 to 5 mile walk and social events for people with cardiac/circulatory problems. Membership is free and open to all and information can be found on the website www.crewheartsupport.co.uk or by phoning John on 07599 080666
