But despite that, average house prices held up across England – even if there was a drop in sales.
In Calderdale prices rose by 0.2% in the year to September 2020. Across West Yorkshire, prices rose by 3.2%.
The ONS also publishes house price figures by Middle Layer Super Output Areas (MSOAs) – small geographic areas containing an average of 7,200 people.
These show 15 of the 27 MSOAs that make up Calderdale saw a rise in house prices over the same period.

In Mixenden the average price rose to £128,273 in 2020, up by 14.6% on the year to September 2019.

In Sowerby Bridge the average price rose to £151,251 in 2020, up by 10.0% on the year to September 2019.

7. Rastrick East
In Rastrick East the average price rose to £202,773 in 2020, up by 8.1% on the year to September 2019.

8. Sowerby & Luddendenfoot
In Sowerby & Luddendenfoot the average price rose to £191,250 in 2020, up by 7.1% on the year to September 2019.
