As the popularity of 'haunted tourism' grows, we highlight some well-known spooky places in our patch..
9. Armley Mills, Leeds
Built in the 16th Century, Armley Mills was the worlds largest woollen Mill, before fire destroyed it. Renowned industrialist Benjamin Gott ordered it to be rebuilt, which gave us the one that's still there today as Leeds Industrial Museum.
There has been constant reports of doors slamming shut and opening again, for years, while people have also claimed they've been forcibly pushed. There has been reports of hearing a small boy crying, seen a figure in a top hat and a Victorian woman in a black dress.
The Mills Museum was also featured in an episode of 'Most Haunted' with Yvette Fielding.
10. Kirkstall Abbey, Leeds
Since the dissolution of the Abbey in 1539 sightings of ghosts have become common and by the 19th Century there were reports of ghostly apparitions in the nave of the church. One witness claimed to have seen a funeral procession of sombre men, clad in white, proceeding slowly down the nave.
The Abbey is also famous for its repeated manifestations of a former Abbot that walks around the building that has now been converted to the Abbey House Museum.
11. Treasurer's House, York
Several ghosts reportedly haunt the house including that of George Aislaby, who owned the property in the 17th Century. However, the most notable haunting is by a group of Roman soldiers who have been witnessed in the cellars.
