Join us on world war battlefields

West Yorkshire

Each year the Lancashire and Yorkshire Historical Society organises pilgrimages to the first world war battlefields in France and Belgium. In August we plan to visit the Somme battlefields and the Ypres salient and also the battlefields at Arras, Vimy Ridge and Loos if requested.

We specialise in visiting specific cemeteries or memorials and an experienced battlefield guide will accompany each trip to commentate on the various battles and historic events.

The historical society was formed as a charitable hobby in 1990 by ex-servicemen who have many years of practical experience in conducting these trips and we support a variety of ex-service charities and institutions. These trips are open to anyone who might be interested. We are a not-for-profit organisation.

Anyone who requires further information should write to me at the address above or phone 01977 734614.
