This is Todmorden Cricket Club’s team in 1959 on the day they took sweet revenge on a Burnley side that had beaten them by six wickets only the previous week.
In the return match against the clock Todmorden had 123 minutes to beat a declared total of 182. The Tod men wasted no time and passed the Burnley total with four minutes to spare. A testimonial collection for John Crowther (front, second from the left) produced £23 5s (£23.25p) from a gate of £64 13s 6d (£64.67p). At the back, from the left, are Donald Horton, Peter Brownridge, Syl Oliver (professional), Maurice Ormerod, Kevin Wilkinson and Brian Whittaker. In front are Robert Marshall, John Crowther, captain Harold Dawson, Albert Connor, and Peter Lever.
