15-year-old charged with GBH over attack on boy, 12, on Leeds playing fields


A teenager was due in court today after a younger schoolboy suffered serious head and facial injuries in an attack on playing fields in Leeds.

The 12-year-old victim was found badly hurt on land off Butt Lane, Farnley, at around 9pm on Wednesday.

A 15-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was arrested shortly afterwards and has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was due to appear at Leeds Youth Court this morning.

A second boy, aged 14, who was arrested in Leeds yesterday has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The 12-year-old boy remained at Leeds General Infirmary today.
