60-year-old walker rescued by Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team after fall

A walker was rescued by the Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team after he fell at Hardcastle Crags, Hebden Bridge, yesterday (Sunday).

The 60-year-old man had fallen a considerable distance and sustained puncture wounds to his abdomen and possible pelvic injuries.

18 members of the team attended the incident to assist the ambulance crew.

The man was placed in a vacuum mattress and evacuated on a bell stretcher before being taken to hospital.

He is now in a stable condition.
