85,000 calls taken by Fire Service in cold weather blitz
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have received a huge volume of calls as the weather inflicted chaos in Calderdale.
In just 24 hours across Wednesday and Thursday, receivers took 84,999 emergency calls.
Crews attended no fewer than 50 incidents in that time across the region with many working far beyond their scheduled hours.
