Accountancy firm celebrates 30 years in business

Torevell Dent accountancy practice was formed by Mike Torevell and Ian Dent in 1986 at the Pellon Lane offices which they still occupy, although long since expanded by purchasing the whole block.

There were three staff members and the two partners at the beginning and the name of Torevell Dent soon became well known around the town as other Professionals and the Inland Revenue mischievously linked it to two well known world class ice skaters at the time.

Managing director, Mike Torevell said, “This is an opportunity for us to thank our long standing and valued clients who have made the past 30 years so enjoyable.

“It is very rewarding to see how many of our clients have grown with our help over the years, and to be able to celebrate our 30th anniversary with them. Quite a few of them having been with us from the very beginning.”

In 1992 and 1994, offices in Huddersfield and Bradford were opened.

In 2002 Torevell Dent introduced Financial Services products to its portfolio of services to clients before selling this off to the incumbent Financial Services Team in 2005.

Michael Fox and Philip Lister became partners and directors during the 1990’s and Samantha Sutcliffe joined the management team in 2003.

Ian Dent took early retirement from Torevell Dent in 2009.

The firm incorporated the Chartered Accountancy firm of Clarkson & Co into its Bradford office in March 2015 showing its intent to grow further and now has a combined workforce of 27.
