Affordable new homes record set

Hambleton District Council has helped to deliver 20 units at Linton on Ouse - with Broadacres – and another seven at Dalton, with Whitfield Homes and Together Housing.

“Many people in the Hambleton area find it difficult to get on to the housing ladder due to the high price of houses within the district,” said Cabinet Member, Councillor Brian Phillips.

“The Council is striving to close the availability gap and these two excellent schemes are helping do that at the present time. The work of the Rural Housing Enabler programme is proving very beneficial in locating Exception Sites of development in the areas of greatest need.”

The Linton on Ouse project is the result of many years of work - with numerous consultations with the local community and support from the Parish and District Councillors.

The Harrison View scheme of ten, two bedroom and ten, three bedroom houses has been designed with a unique character.

Built by Linden they were funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and are owned and managed by Broadacres.

Harrison View is named after the landowner’s late father in law who had farmed in the community for many years.
