IT’s going to be one of the most extravagant weddings in decades – but you can pick up some royal wedding memorabilia for just 99p.
Get in the spirit and stock your cupboards with sovereign souvenirs ready for William and Kate’s special day on April 29.
The princely total of everything in our picture here is just £15.84.
Halifax’s 99p store has filled its shelves with recession-busting regalia, including commemorative cups, cushions, tea towels, flags, calendars and bunting.
The Market Street shop even has its own special bags to transport the keepsakes home.
Store boss Zahid Chavan said: “Judged on sales so far, we’re sure it’s going to be a day to remember.
“Our range of customised 99p products including flags, confectionery and other commemorative memoriabilia have only been on the shelves for three days and are already proving extremely popular.
“As well as souvenirs for the day, they can be keepsakes forever. Our five flags on a stick for 99p are flying off the shelves.”
The company is also hunting for a couple in Calderdale called William and Kate, or Catherine.
The winning pair will receive 99p items, including the royal wedding range. Entries to firstname.lastname@example.org by April 4.
Meanwhile bosses at Nestlé have announced they will make commemorative royal wedding tins of Quality Street from their Halifax factory.
The tin, inspired by a wedding cake, will feature a portrait of the royal couple.
