As things are hotting up for this weekend’s Calderdale Neighbours Day event, it’s been revealed that new feature Alternative Choices will form part of the day.

The oasis of calm can be found in Square Chapel, adjacent to the Piece Hall from 1.30-4.30pm on Saturday.

There visitors can can ‘chill out’, relax and find out more about a range of alternative health, wellbeing and holistic therapies. Free taster sessions are also on offer, including the Alexander Technique, Indian head massage, reiki, reflexology, hand massage, crystal healing and tarot readings.

Practitioners exhibiting include Olwen Jane Edwards – One Small Key, Caroline Tiler-Ansell – Therapeutic Kneads, Julie Shepherd, Helinka Carr – Down to Earth Psychic Club and Serenity Peace & Light.

Calderdale Neighbours’ Day is all about bringing together and celebrating Calderdale’s diverse communities, and showcasing local talent. The free event, which is now in its eighth year, has attracted as many as 11,000 people.

There will be live music and dance, sports activities, face painting, arts and crafts, a video kiosk and a whole lot more.

Calderdale Neighbours’ Day is co-ordinated by a voluntary partnership of organisations and community groups.
