Another successful year for FestivALE as over £4000 is raised

The event, which was held last month at Bailiffe Bridge Community Centre, attracted visitors with its range of real ales and ciders.

Mark Feasey, founder of the FestivALE, said: “In the months up to the FestivALE we all worked really hard in the planning and had hoped that this year would be the best yet, and it was.

“I am so pleased that everything went well and the event was well supported, we are already looking forward to next year and the planning will soon get under way.”

The Mayor and Mayoress of Calderdale attended the event and Mark got the chance to teach them both how to pull the perfect pint.

Last week Doreen Lever and Mark Feasey along with Steve Higgins and Chris Swallow from Barclays Bank went to Overgate Hospice and met Lynn Berry, Third Party Fundraiser, to present the cheque.

Lynn said: “It is amazing how much the FestivALE has raised and we are all extremely grateful for their support.

The group also presented a cheque of £1450 to the Forget Me Not Childrens Hospice in Huddersfield.

Best Ale of the FestivALE went to Trinity Brewery for ‘Well I’ll Bee Foxed’.

After working through the feedback forms Mark said: “The majority were really positive and we’ve now got some really good ideas to ensure that next year’s event will be even bigger and better.”
