Appeal over attack on 11-year-old in Halifax

AN 11-year-old boy was attacked in Halifax.

The boy and his friend were walking along Portland Place in the town centre between 3.10pm and 3.30pm on Monday when they were chased by four youths.

The victim separated from his friend and was chased down St Johns Road where three of the youths held him while the fourth assaulted him.

He suffered face injuries.

The culprits ran off into Halifax town centre where it is believed they made attempts to hide in a pet shop.

A member of the public is understood to have witnessed the assault and approached the youths to tell them to apologise.

Police are keen to trace this person along with anyone else who may have witnessed the attack.

The youths are described as white, around 15 to 16 years old, all between 5ft 5ins and 5ft 9ins tall and skinny.

The main suspect had blonde, spiked, gelled hair, was wearing dark clothing and was carrying a blue bag with orange rope straps and an orange NIKE sign printed on.

The other suspects had short dark hair and medium-length scruffy hair and all were wearing dark clothing.
