THE Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, will visit Halifax next month as part of a two day-trip visiting church and community projects.

He will hold a private meeting with clergy at Halifax Minster before visiting the new Trinity Academy and moving on to the St Augustine’s Centre on April 7.

His trip to Halifax will end at Dean Clough mills.

The Bishop of Wakefield, the Rt Rev Stephen Platten, said they were delighted to welcome him to the diocese.

“It’s a great pleasure to be able to show him the diverse nature of this part of the Northern Province.

“I know that he will be a great encouragement to all those he meets,” he said.
