The members of the Halifax Art Society enjoyed creating some delightful pieces on silk in their latest workshop.
Entitled ‘painting on silk’, run by Lynda Thomas, the workshop allowed each member to produce a painting to be proud of, with the silk adding a touch of magic and charm to each picture.
The society’s next meeting open to the public will be held on November 20 at the Oddfellows Hall when Michael Simpson, the Director of Visual Arts at The Lowry, will be giving an illustrated talk on the life of L.S. Lowry.
Established in 1875, the Halifax Art Society provides a meeting place for artists around Halifax to share ideas and techniques with each other.
The syllabus has a good variety of subjects for workshop evenings, alternated with some excellent demonstrators who give lots of advice on how to use different media.
The friendly group of artists of all abilities enjoy sharing their art with others.
Guests are welcome to join the society for demonstration and workshop evenings.
