Staff from Lloyds Bank in Halifax raised £2,000 by completing a canal walk for BBC Children in Need.

Thirteen employees invited friends, family and even pets on a 24-mile sponsored trek along the canals of Halifax to raise money for the charity.

The canal walk took colleagues from the Pan Retail Change team from Copley through to Todmorden and back, with a welcome stop for refreshments at Hebden Bridge.

Wendy Martin, one of those who took part, said: “It was a brilliant show of team work. Everybody hit or exceeded the distance they planned to do.

“The kids also went much further than originally planned. The sun shone, scenery was gorgeous and we couldn’t have picked a better day.

“It’s fantastic to know that the money raised will be going to such a notable and effective charity. We will continue to look at new ways we can support Children in Need, and raise even more money to benefit the lives of children across the UK.”
