Battering winds cause serious damage Pateley Bridge high street

Battered by the wind, the high street is closed and drivers are being diverted.

According to Pateley Bridge Coun John Fort (Con) children could be going home from school today using an alternative route.

He said: “Because of the wind and the damage that has been cause in the high street the county council is having to make arrangements by getting children home from school via a deviated route.

“There are bits coming off the roof of the antique shop, so the road is ostensibly closed.”
