A man’s incredible story of being moved a staggering 51 times to 37 different children’s homes and young offender institutions is now available to Kindle owners.

As reported by the Courier earlier this year, Ben Ashcroft, from Sowerby Bridge, was one of Calderdale’s most prolific offenders, at one point spending 30 nights in five months in police custody.

He has battled self-harm and heroin abuse but has now turned his life around and is telling his inspirational story in his own words in his book - 51 Moves.

The book was recently released as a Kindle version on Amazon and is already receiving rave reviews on the website.

Ben, 29, has now been out of trouble for 11 years and is working with Inside Spark, which works with teenagers coming out of young offender institutions. He is also trying to set up his own organisation to prevent young people getting involved in crime and drugs.

He says he has seen too many of his own friends die , losing 15 friends in the last decade to drugs or suicide.

“Everybody can change, you just have too want to,” he said.

“No matter how hard it gets, never ever give up.”
