There were 1400 Sixth From students who attended this year’s Calderdale Road Safety Roadshow took place at the Victoria Theatre in Halifax.

The show, run by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, delivers hard hitting accounts from the Emergency Services and families affected by bereavement.

Karina Gonzalez, District Prevention Manager, said: "Our aim is to show new drivers the importance of wearing seatbelts, slowing down & not using mobile phones - which all have a direct impact on statistics of Road deaths in West Yorkshire.

"By sharing this information with as many drivers and passengers as possible we will keep the communities of Calderdale safer.”
