Big cash boost for mental health charity

A charity which works tirelessly to support people with mental health issues has been given a huge cash boost.

Healthy Minds, based at Hall Street, Halifax, received the £44,264 grant from the Lloyds Bank Foundation. It will be a massive help for the charity, which will use the money to fund the salary of project workers and meet the costs of supporting its much relied upon volunteers.

For hundreds of people each year, Healthy Minds is a lifeline which keeps them connected to the community when they are most at risk of isolation. It ensures they are not alone in seeking help from support services.

Jonny Glenn, manager of Healthy Minds, said: “As a relatively small charity, securing reliable funding is a constant challenge.

“The support from Lloyds Bank Foundation is a terrific boost to the support we can offer people to move towards mental health recovery. Through working closely with the community, we know what support people want and need. This funding means that we can get on with delivering a programme of courses and workshops to meet those needs.”

Paul Streets, CEO of Lloyds Bank Foundation, said the foundation is more committed than ever to providing vital funding to charities.
