Black Dyke trombone players honoured

Queensbury band Black Dyke presented its annual awards at the final concert of the year.

The Bandsman of the Year Trophy, voted for by the players, was awarded to Adrian Hirst.

He has been the band’s bass trombone player for the last 21 years.

The Pondasher Trophy was presented to Principal Trombone player Brett Baker who is about to complete his DMA Doctorate in Music at Salford University.

Black Dyke’s final concert of 2013 was held at Huddersfield Town Hall.
