Our communities are set to flourish with a cash boost from the Royal Horticultural Society.

Across Yorkshire, six beneficiaries received larger grants of up to £5,ooo of the overall £30,000 awarded to Yorkshire organisations.

North Halifax’s Threeways centre has been awarded £5,000 to convert an acre of wasteland into a growing space.

The centre said the project will bring people from across the community together in growing their own organic food.

In smaller grants, Stainland and District Community Association will receive £500 to improve the aesthetics of the village and Halifax Opportunities Trust will receive £485 towards their Outback community kitchen and garden project to benefit local families.
