Tom Hingley, former lead singer of the chart hit band Inspiral Carpets brings his solo, accoustic talents to the Friday Night Club at the Bluebird Café, Sowerby Bridge.

The gigs which combine with a tapas evening have been running since the turn of the year, always on the last Friday of the month.

But according to co-owner Pete Gillon, a former music promoter, they’ve proved so successful with so many artists wanting to perform that its now become a twice monthly affair.

Booking Hingley is a real coup. For 22 years he was lead singer with the influential Manchester band, only parting company with them to pursue a solo career in 2011.

On Friday, July 18, he will be playing an acoustic set featuring songs from his solo album Thames Valley Delta Blues.

As usual there will be a full tapas menu and quality ales/lagers, fine wines and cider will be on sale. Tickets are £3 in advance or £4 on the night available from the cafe. It’s an early doors gig so the door opens 7pm and the music starts soon after. Call 01422 834053 before 3pm any day for details.
