Board game mararthon raises £300

Lads from three Boys Brigades in Halifax have raised £300 for children’s cancer charity Ruddi’s Retreat by playing board games for 24 hours.

Eleven lads between the ages of 11 and 18 came together from Boothtown, Pellon and Lee Mount to take part in the challenge.

Event organiser John Crabtree said: “The challenge might not sound as adventurous as most activities in the Boys’ Brigade.

“During the challenge, the lads started to make new friends and they bonded together as a team.

“The lads gave up their time on a weekend, to help a well deserving charity.”
