A CHILD has died after being hit by a car in Halifax.

The three-year-old boy was knocked down by a silver Vauxhall Astra on Violet Street, Halifax, at 3.20pm on Tuesday.

He was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

Sgt Andy Barron, of west area roads policing unit, said: “It is a very early stage in the investigation but we believe there was no suggestion of speed and that the child may have run out into the road.”
