Brodstock 2017 - Rock '˜n' Roll fun for all ages

A DAY of fun for all the family is coming next month with Hipperholme's fourth annual charity Brodstock festival.

There will be music, stalls and entertainment, all raising money for the Overgate Hospice in Elland.

The previous three events have raised £35,000 and on June 17, organisers are hoping to break the £50k fundraising mark.

The event is held at Old Brodleians Rugby Union Club and is run by 120 volunteers from the club throughout the day, creating a family friendly atmosphere, with community the main focus.

Last year’s event was a sellout, with over 3000 people in attendance. A variety of bands are on the bill including the Psychoslinky trio, Huddersfield rockers Days of Riot and Calderdale’s own ‘Jump, Jive n’ Wail’.

Tickets this year are £5 (£10) on the day, with free entry for any accompanying under 12’s.

Faye Henderson, from the hospice, said: “Brodstock is a
wonderful family day out and has becoming a good-sized fundraiser in a
relatively short amount of time. “Everyone
involved in this music festival should be proud they’re doing something so
good for so many people in Calderdale”.
