TWO brothers have kickstarted their fund-raising mission to boost the coffers of Halifax’s Noah’s Ark Centre.

Richard and Keith Hopkinson, from Halifax, have pledged to complete the 50-mile Calderdale Way in June in 24 hours in aid of the counselling centre.

The brothers held a fund-raising brunch at the centre to launch their challenge - and raised £200 towards their target of £700.

Lesley Whitaker, centre administrator, praised the brothers their fund-raising.

She said: “Noah’s Ark is a charity and with recent changes in grant systems, the centre can no longer rely on grants to fund what we do. So fund-raising has become extremely important, and for us to be a bit more proactive.”

Noah’s Ark centre provides free debt advice, counselling for young people and adults and activities to help children with grief. To sponsor the brother visit: https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/keithcalderdaleway
