Olexyfresh Promotions is set to expand next year after enjoying a successful run of events with Hollywood stars such as Vinnie Jones, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The company, based in Sowerby Bridge, will re-brand as Olexy Productions in the new year and will incorporate Fresh Memorabilia and Fresh Photography as the firm expands its range of services.
Founder Stephen Oleksewycz, a former professional footballer with Halifax Town, recently organised the company’s biggest event yet when a crowd of 3,500 enjoyed an evening with Sylvester Stallone at the MEN Arena in Manchester on August 1.
Stephen, whose business empire also includes sandwich bar Lennys Lunchbox on Shay Lane, said: “We’re looking to expand the company into different areas next year, such as event managing cconferences for companies.
“We’ve brought our photography in-house and we’re bringing families into our studio for photo-shoots.
“We’re also expanding into the music and have a significant event at the Leeds First Direct arena next October which will be announced in the new year.
“We are currently getting over 25,000 visits a month to our website olexyfresh.com which is fantastic.
“We managed to secure Vinnie Jones for an exclusive event in Leeds in March ahead of a significant amount of other promoters and we are now running his whole 10 date UK tour in April, tarting it off in Halifax on April 30.
“It’s crazy, but I’ve always had a vision in my mind of what I wanted to achieve.
“I just want to build the infrastructure of the company now so we can relax a bit.”
The company has also given more than £10,000 to charities such as Candlelighters, the Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and Global’s Make Some Noise.
Stephen added: “I’ve been the events industry for 10 years plus now but even when I was a footballer I organised smaller events and got into DJing.
“I had three summers working out in Greece, which was somewhere I’d always wanted to go.
“My entrepreneurial head was on while I was out there and I was very successful but I wanted to create something on a bigger scale. I got home in the winter of 2009 and locked myself away and eventually created the brand ‘Shine’ which was ready to take back out to Greece in 2010.
“The plan was to fly twelve headline DJ’s out across the summer from Europe to play at ‘Shine’ and we set-up a company out there to run it all.
“It went really well and the plan was to go out there again until my wife Lindsey got pregnant with our beautiful daughter Olenia.
“Looking back that was the key moment and the best thing that ever happened to me by meeting Lindsey because it gave me the spur I needed to build up my own business in the UK.
“I noticed there was a gap in the market for VIP dinners done with quality.
“I’d been to a few in the past and came away quite disappointed.
“One of the first ones was with Paul Gascoigne, which was a big risk financially and Gazza is a very unstable personality.
“We had 400 people there which is a huge event - I was a control freak and did absolutely everything by myself.
“We got lots of good feedback and it just progressed from there.
“We then got Mike Tyson, which was a massive step forward.
“Things have progressed at a phenomenal rate this year, we have an amazing, hard-working team and beautiful new offices in Sowerby Bridge so there is so much more to come.”
The company’s next event is with Hollywood legend Al Pacino on April 18 at the Centenary Pavilion, Elland Road.
