Halifax intellectual property firm Appleyard Lees celebrated crossing the finishing line of the gruelling Fred Whitton Challenge at the weekend.
As well as sponsoring the event, the trade mark and patent attorneys, based on Clare Road, entered a group of 10 riders who were put through their paces – a daunting 112 mile bike ride which saw them cycling over eight famous Lake District passes.
Included in the line up were partners Ian Robinson, David Walsh, David Clark, Graham Johnson and senior associate Robert Cumming.
The event is held in honour of Fred Whitton, who died aged 50 in 1998 and was an extremely popular member of the Lakes Road Club.
Ian Robinson said: “The ride was hard work but it was worth it to help reach the target of £1m for Macmillan Cancer Support plus donations to Air Ambulance and Mountain Rescue.”
