World famous Black Dyke Band are playing in in the European Brass Band Championships (EBBC) 2013, today.
Musicians of Black Dyke band, Queensbury, have travelled to Norway’s capital Oslo to perform in the 36th EBBC.
Ten brass bands from nine different countries: England; Austria; Belgium; Denmark; France; the Netherlands; Norway; Sweden; Switzerland; and Wales performed Friday and Saturday.
Black Dyke are twelve time Eurpoean champions - first in 1978 and, most recently, 2012.
Black Dyke Band principal players include Richard Marshall, cornet, Gary Curtin, Euphonium, Brett Baker, trombone, Paul Duffey, sopranao, Sheona White, horn, Katrina Marzella, baritone, Joseph Cook, tuba, Matt Routley, tuba, and Andrea Price, percussion. The band is conducted by Dr Nicholas Childs.
The European champions will be announed at 10pm tonight.
