Award-winning brewer John Hickling has moved his business to Cragg Vale, with his first barrel of beer already rolling out at the local pub.

John sold his former brewery, Blue Monkey, in Nottingham then moved to his new home at Craggs Country Business Park and set up his new business, Vocation Brewery.

John said: “I’ve been able to start again from scratch but bring all my accumulated knowledge to this new endeavour. We plan to start with four beers and increase as we go but in the end we are only interested in producing a quality product.

Landlord of the Robin Hood in Cragg Vale, Roger Wood, said, “We’re absolutely delighted to have the first barrel of beer from Vocation Brewery. Bread and Butter is a lovely dry hopped pale beer, which at 3.9 per cent is great for everyday drinking.”
